Canada”Collision of death in the sky: Two training planes collide in Canada, Indian pilot Shrihari and Canadian girl die a painful death”
Something different was written that day in the calm and blue skies of Canada… the script of death, which swallowed two young lives. An Indian youth and a Canadian girl – both had set out to touch the heights of the sky with the dream of becoming pilots, but fate made them meet death at that height, where a person only wants to fly… not fall.
On Tuesday morning, a painful and shocking incident took place in Manitoba province of Canada. During training, two small planes collided with each other in the sky. This collision was so terrible that both the planes broke into pieces and fell on the ground, and along with it two dreams were shattered – of Indian trainee pilot Shrihari Sukesh and 20-year-old Canadian girl Savannah May Royce.
Shrihari Sukesh – India’s promising son!
Shrihari Sukesh, who lived near Kochi in Kerala, was a promising and ambitious youth. He had dreamt of becoming a pilot and stepped on Canadian soil to fulfil that dream. But who knew that the flight of his life would come to an end so soon and in this manner?
The Indian Consulate General confirmed his death and said that it is in touch with Srihari’s family, the local police and the flight training institute and is providing all possible help. The embassy also informed that the process of bringing Srihari’s body back home has been started.
Canada’s Daughter – Savannah May Royce!
20-year-old Savannah May Royce, who was flying the plane that collided with Srihari’s plane, was a courageous and dreaming young woman. She too had decided to make her future fly high, but destiny had something else in store. After the collision, the bodies of both the trainee pilots were recovered from the wreckage of their respective planes.
Scene of the accident – Flight in the eyes of death!
The site of the incident is said to be near Steinbach, about 50 km from Winnipeg. It was a normal morning when two training planes were flying in different directions in the sky, but a decision of one second changed everything. Both the planes collided terribly and shattered in the sky. After the collision, hearing the loud explosion, the local people ran towards the spot, but by then everything was over.
Investigation begins – Training system under question?
The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada has started investigating the accident. Officials said that they are collecting every information related to the incident. Questions are being raised as to how both the planes were flying at the same height? Did someone lose radio contact? Or was there any lapse in ground control?
Experts believe that such incidents are rare, but the lack of experience of pilots during training sometimes proves fatal. Now it is a matter of investigation that due to which technical or human mistake these two lives were lost.
India and Canada in mourning!
India’s Foreign Ministry and the Government of Kerala have assured all possible help to Srihari’s family. In Canada, Savana’s family and her training institute are in mourning. Tributes are being paid to both the pilots on social media. The hashtag #SkyAngels is trending on Twitter, in which people are remembering the dreams and passion of these two young pilots.
The end of the dreams of a generation… and a warning!
This incident is not just the end of two lives, but a warning to the flight training system at the global level. It tells that to give height to dreams, not only courage is needed, but also strong security arrangements and vigilant monitoring.
